Ashen Equestrian Centre is set in the heart of the picturesque East Anglian countryside with some great hacking on local farm tracks, bridleways and by the River Stour and offers riders a unique retreat to pamper themselves and their horses.

We are a compact centre with only 8 stables & no long term liveries which helps to create a positive, encouraging & comfortable environment so all visitors immediately feel welcome and relaxed.

Ashen E.C. is an ideal retreat for holiday makers or as a holiday training camp for riding clubs or groups of friends.

• Large stables with individual corrals

Ashen E.C’s Resident Coach Becky is one of the world’s leading bio-mechanics riding coaches. She understands different learning styles & communicates change for clients from around the globe to replicate at home.

Riding Simulator

"Strider" , walks, trots & canters (both leads) and the paces can be adjusted to be more or less powerful, he can also be programmed for flying changes at any stride interval.
Strider’s sophisticated sensors give immediate stride-by-stride computerised feedback viewed on a screen as you ride which enables you to see the impact on the horse of your altered riding position. These can be printed out for interpretation and to measure progress.
“Strider” runs on hydraulics and compressed air and feels like a real horse

Pamper Yourself & Your Horse

We have assembled a group of professionals that provide some extra luxuries to your visit at Ashen E.C. These are individuals that excel in their field & that we regularly use to enhance the lives of our horses and ourselves.

The services include – Confidence Coaching, TFT, Phobia Removal, Massage, Structural Bodywork and more.
(Booking in advance is essential).

Ashen E.C. is just 5 minutes away from the historic town of Clare, Suffolk and within 30 minutes of other beautiful towns such as Long Melford, Lavenham, Cavendish & Bury St Edmunds plus the university city of Cambridge is a mere 40 minutes away.
