"Hi Becky and Pete, Thank you for a fantastic two days. I went to my competition today and didn't notice how windy is was, ignored the horse turned out in the paddock next to the collecting ring and rode straight past the "new" fenced of area filled with farm machinery. I managed to hold on to my new position through the warm ups and test. But the biggest breakthrough for me was when my horse was ignoring me in the first test, for the first time since I've owned him I took charge...I know now I have the tools for change and it really is up to me." Caroline
"Becky and Pete...I had some good relection time on the long car journey home...I settled into a feeling of optimism that I realised had been missing from me for while...I went to see my boy and formulated a plan that I will get back on board after a break of 2 1/2 years...this feels like a great step forward...I went for my regular lesson ...I managed some canter and jumping!!!!Do you realise what a big (I mean HUGE!!) statement that is! Proper jumping...I haven't jumped for 3+years!!...and I had a ball!...I am so pleased to have attended this workshop and am enthused to continue with my confidence building...Thank you both for what you have done and if there is a follow-up session keep me in mind...I am now looking to do a Reiki course too (something I've been thinking of for a while but keep putting off!) Bloody empowering stuff this confidence!" Jayne
"Hi Becky, I thought you'd like to know how I've been getting on since the Confident Rider Workshop. There have been some pretty massive changes. When I got home I took Sadie for a hack on her own. We don't do much hacking alone as she can be quite difficult...generally stops, stares, snorts, runs backwards, prances about etc...I would also get scared, she'd just get worse...After the workshop I felt totally calm...I could cope and as a result she did a lot less running backwards and prancing about...We've also been jumping...and the idea of pushing her a bit more more, putting the jumps up feels fine...A client's horse I was riding started bucking. I stayed totally calm and focused...and he stopped! In the past I would have totally panicked. I even wanted to keep riding him as a project horse! It's all very weird, in situations where I would have been scared before I'm just not and I'm doing really enjoying doing more. It's amazing, I'm so glad I did the workshop :0) Thanks very much to you and Peter." Helen
"Hi Becky, I thought I would share with you what was a really lovely ride I had yesterday. It was an EGB 15km ride...a year or two back these were regular occurences...but on one of these rides I lost the plot! My confidence/nerve totally went and despite lots of help/encouragement/ instruction I spent half the ride on Morris' neck until he ran off with me...vowing never to ride again..selling the horse etc. etc. and kicking myself for being such a rubbish rider. And then I found you, and what an amazing difference you have made... After doing The Confident Rider Workshop I wanted to rekindle what we used to do and yesterday was the maiden voyage of this new and improved Bindy...I did get a bit up tight before we went but once we were there it was good! If fact it was VERY good...we did lots of lovely trotting and a respectable amount of cantering, and not once did I get anywhere near Morris' neck. He was the best horse ever and behaved all the time...just a big thank you for what you have done for me and Morris." Bindy
"Hi Becky, Thank you and Pete for the mind blowing weekend! It was a really emotional journey. The rather prompt test was Monday's 12 mile ride! No biting off of husband's head in the morning regarding loading/trailering/riding etc. (totally unheard of.) Loaded horse...drove trailer for an hour and 10 mins with a beam on my face and no tension in my shoulders (usually clinging for dear life to the steering wheel - WOW!) Had 3 canters (the first instigated by me - my friend nearly fell off her horse at this point!) We did some really lovely trotting in my new position (well mostly) down huge expanses of stubble(!) I'm totally blown away by it all! Thanks again! Sharon.
"Becky and Pete,
At long last I have sorted through the mass of information and changes that coming onto the Confident Rider course/s has made.
When I first embarked on the Confident Rider course I didn’t have a horse I could ride and my objective was to try to prepare for the day I could ride again. My history with horses parrelled my life which was actually rather weird! However, riding confidently again was what I hoped to start to achieve.
Without sounding too poetic the first course was life - changing not only for my riding and my confidence with horses but also in my personal life. I started the course full of 'stuff' and left with a rather nice space in my brain from which to build a different perspective both in riding and in life. Thank you is not adequate........
That process breathed new life into my time with horses and my enthusiasm returned!
A very fascinating journey and I know that my being open to possibilities was key to the success I now feel with riding. I can actually ride!! Having spent years not believing I could be a force for change in terms of the behaviour of my horse I am now a believer and what a difference it has made...........
The follow-up course using an actual horse was a very important turning point. I was able to ride my wonderful new horse Blake with a confidence I have not felt for some years. The fact that I was able to focus completely on the riding and not have negative thoughts worming their way into my now rather spacious brain was a joy!!
AND STILL IS.................
That’s the extraordinary thing - which is why I have waited to say thank you - it is long lasting and real, so to both of you - thank you so much, the difference you have made is profound and I will be eternally grateful xxxx And so will Blake....x
Lorraine"
